Catering Establishments

The Home Office announced on 15th June 2009 that a “skilled chef/cook” can be classed as a shortage occupation. This means that prospective employers that work in the catering industry no longer need to advertise the post. Prospective employers, must ensure that the skilled chef/cook will be earning at least £8.45 per hour after deductions of accommodation and meals etc.

Please note that the shortage occupation list is reviewed every 6 months so please check with us that the position is still current if you would like to make use of this.
